Fixed Bollard Protection Without Excavation
Surface-mounted bollards provide permanent vehicle control and pedestrian protection where excavation is impractical or not permitted. Instead of being embedded into the ground, surface-mounted bollards are fixed directly to existing concrete slabs using engineered base plates and mechanical fixings.
This installation method makes surface-mounted bollards a popular choice for retrofit projects, upgrades to existing facilities, and sites where underground services, structural slabs, or construction constraints prevent in-ground installation.

What Are Surface-Mounted Bollards?
Surface-mounted bollards are fixed bollards installed above ground using base plates anchored into concrete. Unlike in-ground bollards, they do not rely on embedment depth for strength. Instead, performance is achieved through:

Sentry Surface-Mounted Bollards are manufactured from heavy-duty steel and supplied with engineered base plates designed to distribute loads into the supporting concrete slab. When installed onto suitable concrete with correctly specified mechanical anchors, surface-mounted bollards provide reliable resistance to low-speed vehicle impacts typical of car parks and commercial sites.

Surface-Mounted vs In-Ground Bollards
Surface-mounted bollards are not a direct replacement for in-ground bollards. Instead, they offer an alternative installation method when excavation is not feasible.
